Over the last couple of years my step-daughter has struggled mightily with completing homework and grappling with feeling overwhelmed and then disengaging, which would then cause her even more stress and anxiety when that resulted in even more work being left undone. Susannah has been a real godsend. Not only is she highly trained in both educational, study, and organizational strategies, AND in helping teenagers navigate their emotional life and learn to work with distressing emotions and anxiety while continuing to move forward, but she connects with teens in a natural and unforced way. She has a fantastic and authentic demeanor with teenagers and is able to be both sincerely empathetic as well as non-judgmentally unyielding in focusing not just on completely work, but in helping students to tie completing schoolwork to their own personal goals and aspirations, even (or especially) when they don’t want to engage during a difficult moment. Susannah is a master educator with a really unique and substantive set of skills in psychology and counseling, which makes for a profound and powerful combination. That mixed with her sincere ability to connect with and delight in teenagers makes her a singular and treasured resource, and I would recommend her highly and without reservation to any family looking for educational support for their teenage student.

I had reached out to Susannah to edit my graduate essay and resume. Susannah responded to my inquiry within a matter of minutes, providing me with excellent, well thought out comments in her reply. This allowed me to be extremely comfortable with her from the very beginning. I could not be happier with the final results. Susannah helped me achieve the clarity and articulation necessary to feel confident with my application materials. It was a pleasure to work with someone so upbeat, who loves what they do and can work on a deadline. I highly recommend Susannah!

A True Gem… Susannah worked with our son over the last two years, supporting him through SATs, final examinations and college applications. Her patience, skills and true sensitivity in helping him were extraordinary. She was able to help him develop story-lines, improved his writing and, more importantly, helped him to achieve an end-result that stretched him and one that made him proud of his work. Her obvious care and desire to ensure his well being rounded out the total package of tutor, mentor and friend. Please feel free to contact me through Susannah should you require more information. – W.D.
Susannah has helped me with a variety of tasks: graduate school admission essays, fellowship applications, and school papers. No matter the topic, she always impresses me with her ability to tackle anything, and more importantly, to make the project less daunting to me. She has helped me to organize large projects, to identify areas of papers that would benefit from expansion, and guided me in reorganizing essays to give them more flow and clarity. One of the best things about working with Susannah is that she has taught me skills that I can apply when she’s not around. My editing and writing have gotten much better since working with her and I don’t dread facing large projects nearly as much. Susannah really brings energy and fun to our sessions, which can make difficult papers a lot easier to manage. I highly recommend Susannah to anyone looking for a fantastic tutor! -D.A.
Susannah is very reliable person. She knows what you want to get from working sessions. She is a perfect idea-maker! –A.
Susannah provided me with thorough and insightful editing for a manuscript that is due to be published in the peer-reviewed quarterly “Boom: A Journal of California”. In addition to being timely and professional, she was a pleasure to work with. The highest compliment I can offer is that she greatly improved the manuscript while preserving my voice in its writing and style. The skills and experience that Susannah brings to editing would be just as valuable for tutoring. I highly recommend her.

Susannah is a conscientious, dedicated, and caring tutor who is always willing to go the extra mile in her instruction in and out of her lessons. Few people have such dedication to the craft of tutoring as she does. In addition, Susannah is also a savvy business woman with a knack for PR and making personal connections with everyone she meets. Susannah has been an excellent addition to the Veritas Tutors team.

Susannah did a great job helping me with a personal statement, especially given the short timeline. She was able to quickly assess the work I had already done and made detailed recommendations regarding the structure and content, which allowed me to better express what I was trying to say.

I met Susannah during my undergraduate studies at Lesley University (Cambridge, Ma). Our sessions were set up through Lesley’s Academic Center. I was so greatful and impressed with Susannah’s dedication and expertise, that I hired her (independently) when I decided to go back to school for a Master in Social Work degree. Susannah helped me with my admissions essay and every week we meet to go over major assignments and set goals/timelines so they get completed on time. Susannah is also a very flexible and understanding person. If I ever need her to schedule additional sessions she does so without issue, and thats something I REALLY appreciate in a tutor. I’d be glad to communicate via email (dahoward@partners.org) for anyone who has more specific questions, Susannah is a pleasure to work with so I don’t mind providing a more detailed recommendation if need be.

Faced with limited hours this past Spring in my work as a staff college tutor of Masters candidates in Cambridge, Susannah stepped into the breach. She carried her work off professionally, courteously, and energetically, bringing my most challenging students to a level I myself could not. Susannah’s mastery of this craft and art goes much farther than her certifications and degrees indicate. She’s simply brilliant with this work. Had she been active when I was a student, secondary, undergrad and graduate, entire worlds of opportunity would have opened for me…which is why we both chose, and love, this work.
Very highly recommended.

I am trying to complete the requirements for my Licensed Mental Health Counselor certification and I knew I needed help organizing all the paperwork and forms, figuring out the specific requirements, and approaching the right organizations. Susannah was extremely professional, helped my break down all the overwhelming tasks into smaller more manageable ones, and probably most importantly, tapped into her extensive network of other therapists, coaches and organizations to help find me a clinical supervisor. I highly recommend her!
